The Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve in Faro is a hands-on science centre; its own site lists the opening hours and the free-entry days. The indoor water park in Quarteira is open daily through the winter.

Which water parks are open in autumn and winter?
The outdoor parks close for the winter: Slide & Splash runs its low season to 31 October, and Aqualand is closed until its 2027 season. Aquashow’s indoor park in Quarteira opened on 1 October 2026 and runs daily from 10:00 to 18:00.
Is it cheaper to buy park tickets online?
Often. Zoomarine lists its low-season fixed-date ticket at a lower price online than at the gate, and Slide & Splash takes 10% off online.
What do we do on a rainy day?
The indoor water park in Quarteira, the science centre in Faro, or a cooking class. Ask and we suggest a dry plan for the day.
